My answer to this test is to `transform: translate(0, -100%);` to to `.photo:hover .overlay` rule. But it doesn't pass.

My answer to this test is to transform: translate(0, -100%); to to .photo:hover .overlay rule. But it doesn't pass. Did I understand the question incorrectly?

.photo:hover .overlay { transform: translate(0, -100%); }

style.css
/* overlay and img transitions ---------- */

.overlay,
img  {
    transition: transform .6s ease-out;
}

/* overlay and img transforms ---------- */

.photo:hover .overlay {
  transform: translate(0, -100%);
}
.photo:hover img {
}

Hi Elgs,

You are pretty close on this one.

In this particular question they only wanted you to translate the Y postion so are looking for you to use the translateY function.

You should find the following gives the result you need.

.overlay,
img  {
    transition: transform .6s ease-out;
}

/* overlay and img transforms ---------- */

.photo:hover .overlay {
  transform: translateY(-100%);
}
.photo:hover img {

}

However I believe what you put is correct the specific function this question was looking for what not used.

Hope that helps.
