My buttons in "nav ul li" only work when you actually click on the link "li"

My buttons in "nav ul li" only work when you actually click on the link "li" as opposed to the whole button.

They have a transparent background for the desired look.

Any idea how to make them work as a button?

Thanks

Without knowing all your code, you can probably add display:block to your links < a > so that the link takes up the full height/width of the li.

nav ul li a {
  display:block;
  /* might also need: */
    height:100%;
    width:100%;
}

Thanks Jeff, it didn't exactly work out but I appreciate the effort.
