My code is incorrect apparently, can anyone help?

Im not sure how to get the laps to increase every time run_lap is called. The lap number seems to stay the say eeverytime run_lap is called

racecar.py
class RaceCar:
    def __init__(self, color, fuel_remaining, laps, **kwargs):
        self.color = color
        self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining
        self.laps = 0
        for key, values in kwargs.items():
            setattr(self, key, values)
    def run_lap(self, length):
        self.length = length
        self.fuel_remaining = self.fuel_remaining - self.length*0.125
        self.laps =+ 1

Please try below code. I have found no need laps argument in init

class RaceCar: def init(self, color, fuel_remaining, **kwargs): self.color = color self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining self.laps = 0 for key, values in kwargs.items(): setattr(self, key, values)

def run_lap(self, length):
    self.length = length
    self.fuel_remaining = self.fuel_remaining - self.length*0.125
    self.laps += 1

The addition assignment is += not =+
