PHP PHP Functions Introducing Functions Introducing Functions

My code is not being echoed to the browse

Not sure why my code is not being displayed to the browser.

$current_user = 'Mike';

function is_mike(){
  global $current_user;
  if($current_user == 'Mike'){
    echo 'It is Mike!';
  }else {
    echo 'Nope, it is not Mike.';
  }
}
?>```

I figured it out. I just need to call the function by typing is_mike() under the code block
