My date() function is not passing the challenge?

I can't get my code to pass for this challenge. Please help

It could be one of a few issues with either the date format you're calling or with the strings.

Let's have a closer look at what the code challenge is asking. You're looking for the following Date format. Today is July 04, 2016

I assume you've looked at the documentation as suggested but try correcting the day format in your string. You have a stray character there! :-)

Thank you. I realized it was the \
