My heading never changes color

I'm following along with the video and the console says the input field works, but I can never make the button work. What am I doing wrong? I've used Safari and Chrome and neither does anything.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>JavaScript and the DOM</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <h1 id="myHeading">JavaScript and the DOM</h1>
    <p>Making a web page interactive</p>
    <input type = "text" id ="myTextInput">
    <button id ='myButton'>Make headline color</button>
    <script src="app.js"></script>
  </body>
</html>
const myHeading = document.getElementById('myHeading');
const myButton = document.getElementById('myButton');
const myTextInput = document.getElementById("myTextInput");

myButton.addEventListener('click',() => {
myHeading.style.color = myTextInput.value;
});

I tried your code in both Chrome and Safari and it worked

Your code seems to work fine for me.

Did you type a standard color name (like "red") into the box before clicking the button?
