My hexadecimal colour codes are not showing the colour in workspace when I hover over them?

html {
    border-top: 50px solid #FF00BF;
}

I've only just stated learning here on treehouse so I'm really sorry if this is a silly question, but I can't seem to get my hexadecimal colour code to display the colour when I hover my mouse over it in workspace although the code works when I view my webpage?

Hi Chloe,

Are you possibly using Firefox or another browser that's not chrome? Last that I checked, this color preview doesn't work in firefox but it does work in chrome. I'm not sure about support on any browsers beyond those two.

Thank you everybody for your replies, I'm glad its not just me that's experienced this! I'm going to download chrome now and give it a try as I had been using Firefox and internet explorer.
