my printf function isn't compiling properly, I have it written as printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName); yet I can't

What am I doing incorrectly?

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
String firstName = "Will";
printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName);

Like what Victor stated, you are missing the System.out portion of your printf line. Sometimes it helps to open a new test project in IntelliJ or your choice of IDE. It will give you hints as to where your code is failing.

My guess is that you forgot the System.out, try this:

System.out.printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName);

Have fun coding!
