Even if your syntax were valid the challenge is asking you for a variable that is named the camel-cased version of "first name"
It's not asking for a variable named camel-cased. It's asking for a variable named first name in the camel case style. Camel case starts with lower case and then each successive word is joined without a space with its first letter being a capital. Here are some examples of camel case variables:
janesCoffeeShop
bigCar
sleepyOldNymph
aVeryLongVariableThatNoOneWouldWantToEverSeeInAnyonesCodePleaseOhNoWhyDidYouDoThis
So if we want to camel case first name we would end up with firstName
By the way, hyphens in variable names are not valid syntax in Java.
