MySQL Server isn't loading

Hey, so I installed MAMP about 3 weeks ago and then took a break. I've come back to it and MySQL server won't start. I've tried uninstalling it and installing it again and basically starting these tutorials over (as I wasn't that far). However nothing I can find on the internet fixes my problem (such as renaming/ deleting ib_logfile0 and ib_logfile1.

Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.

When you deleted it did you delete all the files? Sometime there are left over ones that cause issues. I had the same thing happen to me and I had to remove everything related then reinstall MAMP before it worked.

Thanks for the reply. I uninstalled it and then deleted the whole folder before installing it again. I'm now using XAMPP instead which works.

Glad XAMPP is working for you. I'm assuming you're on a Mac? If so, deleting the app folder doesn't always get rid of everything. There's usually a load of files stored in the Library folder too. I use an app called AppCleaner which find all of the related files outside the Applications folder so you can bin everything in one go and clear it out fully.
