MySQL Workbench is denying my root password?

Hello,

When I try to create a connection MySQL Workbench keeps asking for a root password, which I have not set. How do I get around this issue?

Thanks.

Hey Alex,

I don't use the Workbench, but with MAMP, the root password is the admin password for your computer (The one you use to login / install apps). Give that a try. :)

Sorry I couldn't be more help, Alex. I'm not familiar with Workbench. Hopefully you get it solved soon. :dizzy:

I work on Macs and haven't worked with with SQL databases in a while. But when I did, I used MAMP and phpMySql (which is part of MAMP)... or sometimes just the command line.

Lately, I've been focusing on Java and Objective-C Development, so, it's been a while for databases. However, I have been looking at NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

(If you're on Windows, give WAMP a try.)

Is this for one of the courses, or for personal use? I completed all Database courses here on TTH without using MySQL Workbench.

Ok, I have got it to work now. But I have no idea how I did it ! At least it works.
