name:error val is not defined,

I am getting a name:error val is not defined, what am i doing wrong?

creating_functions.py 
def hello_student(name):
   return ("Hello "+ val )

The parameter was declared as "name", so use "name" instead of "val".

Also, they don't hurt but the parentheses are not needed in the "return" statement.
