float real_numbers[5];

printf("Array real_numbers is %ld bytes.\n", sizeof(real_numbers));

printf("Array real_numbers can store %f items.\n", sizeof(real_numbers) / sizeof(float));

Am i close to the answer?

very close! if you look at the error the challenge gives you it says the correct format specifier is %ld not %f. so change the specifier.
