IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("what is your name?  ");

The task I believe you're getting stuck on says: Using the console's printf method, display a message that says, "First name: ", followed by the first name that the user has entered.

Which means you need to format the print with the firstName variable in the first step of the code challenge.

String firstName = console.readLine("What is your first name?  ");
String lastName = console.readLine("What is your second name?  ");
console.printf("First name %s", firstName);
