Need help in setting up macos on windows 10.

Hi I am in the track ISO development using swift. I don't have MAC so I tried to setup macos on windows 10 using Vmware virtual box and OS X Mavericks (version 10.9).

Virtual box was running but OS didn't boot :(

Please need help in Installing MAC OS on windows10.

Thanks, Anuradha.

Hi there! Running macOS inside a VM on a Windows machine is a legally grey area as I understand it. But beyond that you need to make sure you have an Intel processor and not an AMD. Also, you want to have no less than 4GB of RAM dedicated to the VM.

Hope this helps! :sparkles:

Thanks Jennifer. I have Intel processor but I have only 4GB of RAM :( So need to figure out some thing else.

Do u have any idea on xamarin 3. Can it be used for IOS development?

Thanks Anuradha.

No. Xamarin.ios has Xcode as dependence if you wanna use it for iOS development, and you can't get access to Xcode without a MacOS

Hmm, is there any other way I can practice my codes, because to set up the system i will need some time and till then don't want to waste time :(

Just going through the videos and code challenges won't help much until I practice on my own.

Please suggest.

Thanks, Anuradha.

If you're just looking to learn Swift and not anything about building the interface, you can run test code and your own projects here: https://swiftlang.ng.bluemix.net/#/repl

However, when you get to courses that need an emulator and graphical components you will need Xcode. And that can only be run on macOS. So you're either going to have to virtualise macOS or buy a Mac.

Good luck! :sparkles:

Thanks Jennifer. This is really helpful. Till my setup is ready I can use IBM Swift Sandbox.

Thanks, Anuradha.
