Hello Timotheus,

Welcome to Treehouse! Most of the videos have an associated workspace you can use to try the code for yourself. At the lower right of a course video, you should see a link with green text that says "Launch Workspace." If you click that, it will bring up a workspace that you can use to follow along with the instructor.

Treehouse has a short video on how to use Workspaces, which might also be useful.
