Need help understanding what to learn

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can help me understand where I should start. I'm originally a UI/UX Designer starting to learn development to help realise my ideas. I would like to learn to build a website (to start with) that aggregates information from different sources. This will probably be from multiple APIs. I don't know where to start or to understand APIs. What language do I need to learn and do you know of any tracks on treehouse that will help me.

I'd really appreciate if someone could point me to the right direction.

Thanks!

p.s. I already have some basic HTML and PHP experience.

I guess the path you should take is Front end Web development. In this pack you learn many languages that are needed to build Web pages. Start withs css: https://teamtreehouse.com/library/css-basics and then continue with javascript : https://teamtreehouse.com/library/javascript-basics.

Also try out Python it's great for Web apps :]

(Your journey will be long :P)

Hi,

I would also suggest looking through the Tracks https://teamtreehouse.com/tracks . Tracks are kind of study plans that will walk you through a series of courses aimed at a particular outcome, like Web Design, Front-End Web Development, Full-Stack JavaScript, and so on. Best of luck!
