Need match for regex "is a" or "is an" to strip characters from user input.

I need to take user input for a Perl program and strip out "is a" or "is an". The statements are "Name is a/an Type" and name and type are placed into an associative array. What regex do I use to isolate the "is a " part? Thanks in advance.
