Need some help with basic HTML

I have just got on to part 2 with Allison, and I seem to having quite a hard time getting the styling to work correctly on one of the earlier tasks. Here is the HTML i have:

http://pastebin.com/WM1NUTxg

No matter what value i change the font sizes to, px or em, or even trying to change their colors or other parameters, nothing seems to work. I am using chrome + Notepad ++. Am i missing something really obvious here? Any help appreciated.

EDIT: sorry about that, i hadn't shut my body wrapper correctly, thankyou for replies.

michael puckett - You should make your edit it's own reply and then mark it as the best answer. So users browsing the forum thread list will see this issue has been solved.

Thanks and happy forum'ing.

You need to close your body tag like this: </body>.

Thankyou for the fast reply. I will not be as careless with my coding next time. It's the simple things.

Could you show your HTML and CSS separately.

Or even better, if michael puckett could use codepen.io to create a "working demo"
