CSS CSS Basics (2014) Understanding Values and Units Styling the Intro Paragraph

Nested element

The exercice asked to target the span element nested to the intro class. So, I thought, I understood this selector, but it seem to not work.

So, I used : p span {} or p.span{}. What I have wrong ?

<!DOCTYPE html>
    <title>Lake Tahoe</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="page.css">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
    <header id="top" class="main-header">
      <span class="title">Journey Through the Sierra Nevada Mountains</span>
      <h1>Lake Tahoe, California</h1>
    <div class="primary-content t-border">
      <p class="intro">
        Lake Tahoe is one of the most <span>breathtaking attractions</span> located in California. It's home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's reputation.
      <a href="#more">Find out more</a>
    <footer class="main-footer">
      <p>All rights reserved to the state of <a href="#">California</a>.</p>
      <a href="#top">Back to top &raquo;</a>
/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */

.intro {
  font-size : 1.25em;
  line-height: 1.6;

p.span {
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;

Hi Marc,

What you want to do is target an element that's a descendant of another. In CSS the descendant selector is simply an empty space, so it would look like this

.intro span {}

Because you're looking for a class of .intro which just happens to be a paragraph element and then any span element inside it.

Hope this helps :)

kk! You're right. It's really appreciate. Thank you for your quick answer. I hope it wasnt to hard to understand me. My english isn't quite perfect. :P
