I'm Ryan Mouser, the Content & Community Marketing Specialist here at Treehouse. My pronouns are he/him. Outside of Treehouse, I have the joy of living life with my incredible wife, our 3 awesome kids, and our 2 cat furbabies. We love to make music, garden, cook, play games, and watch fun TV.

Google all the way for programming solutions!

Hello and good evening, my name is Matthew Garafalo. I am currently navigating through my first tech degree program here at Treehouse in Front End Development and cannot wait to start Full Stack and the .NET courses! My background in programming stems from an early age where as soon as I got a computer I fell in love with video games and always wanted to learn how to make my own. I'd find myself modding old files.. rarely getting things to be quite right but that was never too discouraging. After numerous attempts at learning to be a successful developer, I have decided this is the last time I am going to "attempt" and yet make this the final and complete run at it. I hope to land a position in the near future as a developer!

In my spare time, I greatly enjoy mountain biking and training dogs. Being I currently live in New York, Long Island to be more specific, my options for riding are fairly limited. We are looking to relocate south in the near future. I have two Rottweilers, one of which is an extreme genetic beast who was on track to be a superstar in the dog sport known as Schutzhund however due to the pandemic and some local restrictions we have decided to end the sport training and now just focus on having as much fun as possible!

I currently work for an insurance agency as an auto damage adjuster.

When I am stuck on an issue I will automatically Google my issue then explore some of the more trusted resources (MDNs or SO).

Treehouse Teacher

Hi, all! I'm Megan, a teacher here at Treehouse :) I've been with Treehouse for over two years working with students in the FEWD, UX, and Python Techdegrees and now creating content to add to our fabulous library.

When I need programming help, I always Google first. I tend to only delve into StackOverflow if it shows up as a result of my Google search. It can be a bit of a rabbit hole sometimes. If I'm really stuck, then I reach out to a few friends to see if they can give my code a look over and see what I'm missing.

Outside of coding, I hang out with my husband and our dog, Jethro. I love to play video games (currently playing Breath of the Wild...again), sew, knit, and cook. We're big into tv shows, movies, and watching rpgs like Critical Role.

You can find me on Linkedin, Twitter, and Instagram.

Nice to meet you all!

Ooooo I didn't realize you were a Critter! :D Cool! Thanks for sharing Megan Amendola !

Hi, my name is Manny Reimi, and I am a growth hacker (sort of a cross between a product marketing manager and a technical product manager) who has been working in startups for nearly a decade. I am currently deeply immersed in blockchain and crypto, specifically applications related to decentralized finance or "DeFi" as we know it. I am just over halfway done with the Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree here at Treehouse. Currently, I am between jobs so I have been using my new JS skills to pimp my trading spreadsheets with API calls to get price quotes, etc ā€“ great for quality-of-life!

For the icebreaker question: when I am stuck I tend to go straight to Google, unless it is a front-end issue then I will go to either CSS Tricks or HTML5 Doctor. I tend to go to the first StackOverflow answer that comes in my search results page and take it from there. I also find myself spending a lot of time in the MDN docs, which I originally struggled a lot with, but it is getting easier now. When all else fails me, I have a couple of close dev friends that I can ask.

Outside of work/coding, I invest as a side project, and that involves keeping up with news, markets, and politics. I am originally from Venezuela, studied in California, and now I live in Hong Kong where I have a young family: a beautiful wife, a kindergartener (who is fascinated with all things Mario) and a baby. When in relaxing mode, I enjoy watching documentaries and am a bit of a history buff and adventurer. What I am looking forward to the most is travelling after getting through this pandemic. Please connect with me on LinkedIn.

just curious, how long has it taken you to get halfway though the programs? that is awesome, congrats!

Sasha Lenz I have been at it since July 2020, but have worked full-time on a startup (1.5FTE at least) until December. I did two units in December. Now, back to the grind, a bit sluggish but carrying on. I have heard people finish the programs in (realistically) 9-12 months but I am guessing some people will be faster, especially if in-between jobs.

As TD student, I typically go the Treehouse Community because they are extremely helpful and non-judgmental. Next, I'll just google it.

Hello everyone. I'm Jonathan, and I'm a FSJS TD student. I initially started as FEWD TD in November 2020, but decided to pivot this year to take on the the challenge of learning JS.

You may connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter.

Here's a link to my profile I created. I'll admit that I haven't updated recently because I've been to busy learning JS.

I'm passionate about American football and the NFL. My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. I love all things data analytics.

I have recently started blog to record my journey of pivoting to a developer career. You can go here to view it.

Hey everyone!! šŸ‘‹ Awesome connecting with you all and really cool to see so many other people learning along similar paths.

  1. I'm a big fan of YouTube, Medium, and StackOverflow! I'm a really visual person and learner, so I find that video demos and walk throughs help me the most. Also, perusing issues in GitHub can be a game changer too.

  2. I'm a self-taught programmer looking to really level up my JavaScript and full stack skill so that's why I'm here :) I'm really loving Treehouse and all of the learnings here. Also awesome to connect with so many like-minded learners!

  3. I can be found on almost all socials @BrianHHough and would love to connect with folks on Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and all of the socials! I also blog a lot on IG about cloud/React, so let me know what you think if you check out my posts!

  4. I post a lot of the projects and work I'm working on via GitHub in case you want to see my work!

  5. I love learning, watching Silicon Valley on HBO (for the 18th time), and building technology. I also really like sports, baseball, football, hockey, basketball, you name it!

Silicon Valley is the best

Hi, I'm Sasha. My pronouns are she/her. I am brand spanking new to coding, I am sure google or phoning a friend is going to be my go-to for help. I am a nurse with a decade of mental health & substance abuse nursing under my belt ready to dive head first into a new career. Nervous, but so excited! Planning on doing as many courses as I can in my free time and hopefully earn my degree from Treehouse. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, skiing, and petting all the dogs.

We work with C#, Bootstrap, & JavaScript mostly.

I'm a husband and a father of 3. No. 4 is on the way! We live in SC, USA. I like guitar, tech, and chill evening vibes. I don't have a degree, but it hasn't caused too much trouble for me yet.
