New and confused

When I add my second line for last name it keeps telling me task one (of firstName) is no longer working

IO.java
// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name?   \n");
//
String lastName = console.readline("What is your Last Name?  ");

That message often pops up if your code has some syntax error in it that causes the code checker for the challenge to crash.

The issue in your code is that you have forgotten to capitalize the L in the readLine method on your last line of code. Since Java is case-sensitive that results in an error. If you capitalize it properly like this:

// I have imported java.io.Console for you. It is a variable called console.
String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name?   \n");
String lastName = console.readLine("What is your Last Name? "); // Changed readline to readLine

Then your code will work.
