General Discussion

New and...disoriented.

Hello everyone,

I just signed up on my Gold membership and I would like to know where to begin for Web Development on Treehouse. I was looking over the Learning Adventures and I came across "Web Development" series and "HTML/CSS" series

Which one should I begin with?

Thank you.

If you would like to learn web development to build a web app and not just a website then the Become a Web Developer Learning Adventure is the best place to start.

A website would simply be a static HTML/CSS/JS site. A web app would have a database driven server side component to it like: forums, e-commerce, content management systems, etc.

If you have never coded a website before, I would suggest starting with HTML+CSS until you have a good understanding of how they work.

Then I would move onto a server side language as they are more complex and still include HTML and CSS.

Good luck with your learning.

Than you guys for your answers. I really appreciate it!
