New Version.

Our class is taking this course, however Unity has came out with a new version of the app. The file, edit, etc tab is not present on this new version, and I can not find where to save and change the name of the project. Help please?

Hi Tabatha, I'm not sure what's happening with what you're using, is this on Windows or Mac? I can assure you the File, Edit etc are all in the same place they've always been. I currently have the latest installed of Unity 4.6.8 and Unity 5.1.3 and both have the same layout as they always have. Do you know which version your class are using?

The following is a screenshot of Unity 5.1.3 (the latest) open on my macbook:

Unity 5.1.3d

Kimberly Colbert I'm not sure what you mean by Unity 5d. The latest version of Unity is 5.1.3 I think Nick might have been using 5.1.2 when the videos were recorded which would be practically no difference anyway.

Thank you! I had my screen moving around as I was using multiple screens and didn't realize what was happening.

Hello Tabatha,

If you're using Unity on Windows, try hitting the Alt key on your keyboard. I'm not sure if this is the case for Unity, but sometimes menu bars can be hidden in Windows apps and usually the Alt key will show it if that's the case.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for responding! I was alternating between apps, and didn't have it where it was suppose to be so I didn't realize my menu bar was to this specific app.

Check your layout view at the top right corner and set to default.

I was going to suggest this too but even layout shouldn't change the location and appearance of the main menu bar.
