Newbie, bit of advice needed

Hi, I am a novice. I just wanted to ask, does Treehouse have an option to advise me on next steps/courses? I'm new and not certain which route to take and need guidance.

Thanks

Ben

What do you want to be able to do?

Ben,

I would say the best way to get started would be to look at the https://teamtreehouse.com/tracks section and find a track that is inline with what you most would like to do. The tracks will guide you through definite levels of skills as you grow in your knowledge.

If you're new to computers you might want to check out the Digital Literacy track which takes you through basic concepts about how the internet works and what HTML and CSS actually is. If you already understand that stuff doing a basic track like "Web Design" or "Front End Development" might be better for you. These tracks start you with basic information and work their way up into the more complex. From there you'll be able to grow into another track like Developing for Wordpress, PHP, Rails, JavaScript, or even moving on to Swift. I find that student who learn JavaScript first grasp Swift a lot easier if they're new to programming since they look very similar.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Tim, that makes sense. Thank you.
