NFC, mobile wallets and the coding of.

Not really sure what the falls under in terms of coding but I assume it does.

I am really interested in the whole mobile wallets and using NFC to make payments, the problem is, ive read just about everything I could find on google related to NFC and yet the whole payment process and how mobile wallets work dont feature in anything ive read.

I assume building a wallet is just a website that stores payment information and details, then you pay for your customers purchases based on their wallet balance.

I love the idea of being able to trade money between people, small amounts at the tap of a NFC tag or even just shaking someones hand.

I was looking at maybe building something to that effect for my family as a trail run type of thing with a lot of other ideas in mind for it too.

Does anyone know of any resources where I can learn more about this in detail, resources with a lot of focus on the process behind the payments, how that all works. Also the best way to go about building a wallet, for example is it best to go about it solo build from the ground up or use other built tools like Stripe for example to handle it.

Pretty much looking for any information I can get on the payment and wallet side of NFC payments.

Hmm this is an interesting question but if I were you id learn:

Ruby on rails (For the app development) PHP and MySQL(For some of the back-end systems databases etc...) HTML, CSS (For the structure and layout of the app) Android/IOS SDK (For different mobile clients)

If you are serious about creating an app i'd love to help out witht he HTMl/CSS and PHP side :)

Hope this helps -Shaun Moore

Hi Shaun, thanks for the reply but sadly im not looking at building anything just yet, im looking at gaining information about it and then seeing if its viable to do it or not.

If it ever gets off the ground though ill be sure to update or make a forum thread for anyone that wanted to help.

I think a Treehouse course of NFC and maybe even a Treehouse wallet would be a great project / course.
