no matter how i write this i always get task 1 is no longer passing.

Great! Now let's create a similar method named isFullyCharged that checks to see if the current bar count is at the maximum charge.

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
   if (barCount == 0) {
    return true;
  } else {
    return false;
   }
   }
  }
  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return barsCount == MAX_BARS;
 }
}

Answer is correct but due to Incorrect closure i.e an additional "}" after isBatteryEmpty method, it gives a compilation error. Suggest taking out that extra "}" and it works fine!

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() { if (barCount == 0) { return true; } else { return false; } } } public boolean isFullyCharged() { return barCount == MAX_BARS; }

Correct Answer:

public boolean isBatteryEmpty() { if (barCount == 0) { return true; } else { return false; } } public boolean isFullyCharged() { return barCount == MAX_BARS; }
