NoMethodError in Statuses#new

hey ! I am doing the course :simple rails development but there is an error i can not solve

undefined method `+' for nil:NilClass Extracted source (around line #9):

  has_many :statuses 
  def full_name 
  first_name + " "+ last_name
  end

end
