Noob needs help building a wordpress site

Hi guys,

I'm trying to build an educational site using wordpress. I would like to use a customised wordpress theme that uses payment gateways such as Paypal, Stripe, Dwolla and Google Wallet. I know there are plenty of lessons/tracks on wordpress but can someone pinpoint me in the right direction with what courses to take to reduce learning time? btw, shameless plug, but my site is called investocracy.com

I would suggest learning CSS foundations and working on the WordPress courses. Not much else :) Maybe searching for a premium WordPress theme?
