Design Adobe Illustrator for Web Design Creating a Wireframe Adding Type

Not allowing me to type

I've tried doing what Ashley is doing, but it doesn't seem to work. When I try writing a text to the blocks, it appears a pencil with a blocking symbol.

Hello, Matthew Morales did you try clicking outside the art boards and dragging the cursor to create the text box? Try that then you can place the text where you want it.

Remember the shortcut for text tool is CRTL + T on a windows pc and COMMAND + T on a mac.

Also make sure you're on a layer that is not locked.
