Don't forget, when you call a function and are passing in a value, it is done in parentheses. It's just like when you are defining a function and it's parameters, it's done in parentheses.

getRandom(12)

Exactly, the issue is not in the creation of the function, but rather when it is being called upon to actually do its job.
