CSS Animating SVG with CSS Transitions and Transforms Transitions and Transforms

Not sure what I am doing wrong in trying to rotate the .star on :hover using transform:rotate

/* Complete the challenge by writing CSS below */ .star-bg { transition: fill 1s ease; }

.star:hover { fill:steelblue; transform: rotate (180deg); }

The code that you have for transform rotate should work. Which step are you having trouble with?

One thing I noticed after looking at the code challenge, the steelblue fill has to be applied to .star-bg on hover and not to .star, maybe that's preventing you from passing the step.

Here's a code snippet for reference,

.star-bg {
  transition: fill 1s;
}

.star-bg:hover {
  fill: steelblue;
}

.star:hover {
  transform: rotate(180deg);
}
