not sure why this isn't working

says must pay a string and a space

You're very close. The challenge is asking you to join them with a common AND a space.

That means the value saved to your together variable should be this:

var together = "January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December"

But instead you have this:

var together = "January , February , March , April , May , June , July , August , September , October , November , December"

I think you mean a comma and a space.

You just have a stray space. Instead of ", " (one comma, one space), you have " , " (space-comma-space).
