Now Accepting Submissions for Treeviews Episode 4!

Hey Everyone!

We're accepting submissions for Treeviews Episode 4! For those of you who aren't familiar with Treeviews, it's a show where you – the Treehouse member – submit your work and a panel of Treehouse teachers offer feedback. Watch the previous 3 episodes here: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/treeviews.

We are open to critiquing all sorts of work, so don't hold back! It can be (but not limited to) a mobile application, web app, or website. We can give you feedback on any of our areas of expertise; code, design, marketing, finance, etc.

Please submit your project here with the following info:

  1. Project info
  2. Link to the project itself
  3. Any specific feedback you're looking for

We'll choose 2-3 to review next episode, and will archive the rest for episode 5!

Looking forward to seeing what all of you are working on!

Allison

Would enjoy hearing your feedback on Commendable Kids (commendablekids.com). Launched in 2010, we have over a 1000 registered kids working to learn new skills and reach new milestones. We have a similar mission as Treehouse!

Sounds like fun, and please feel free to be completely blunt (if it needs addressing) as I'm really trying to learn every aspect of design.

  1. I was asked by family members to do a complete website redesign of our family business. I decided to use Bootstrap to do all the heavy lifting as I'm still not 100% confident in my ability to do typesetting and cross browser compatibility. This is one of the reasons why I'm here to learn. I know a bit about general web design, but I'm still trying to piece together techniques and various aspects of design as a whole.
  2. The website is - Rocky Mountain Business Systems
  3. I'm looking for feedback on every aspect really as this was my first major website design. If I had to narrow it down, I'm looking for feedback on the flow of the website, readability, and general design.

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi, I don't see a link for submissions so I will post it here :) I would love to talk about "Battlesquare" an app for iOS:

1 - Battlesquare is a location based, real world strategy game that allows you to conquer your neighborhood in a Risk™ style game. Playing Battlesquare is easy, just connect with your Foursquare account and go to town on your city. For every check-in you are deploying troops in your favorite venues. The more you reinforce your fortresses the bigger the chance to rule the whole city.

2 - The website is http://playbattlesquare.com

3 - I would love some feedback on the overall user experience of the application itself (not the app) I could provide promo codes if you are interested

Thank you :)

Hi Carlos, Brian, and Mark! Thank you so much for your submissions!

Carlos – that'd be great if you could provide us with a promo code so we could get the full experience of the application. Please send to allison@teamtreehouse.com

Members, keep the submissions coming. Even if you don't get on this episode, you can get on the next one! :)

Thanks!

@Carlos - Battlesquare looks awesome! When's the Android version coming out? ;-)

Hola, I'm currently in the process of building a responsive website. I used the template based off of the "Smells Like Bakin" Tutorial.

I was hired by a friend to build a website for his bar. I'm getting there but its still a work in progress. Since its a fairly simple 5 page website I thought I would take this opportunity to create a responsive webdesign.

Right now the widths of the different divs aren't quite lining up. I think its just because of all the trouble shooting and experimentation. I think eventually I would get the idea but would love to here what the Treehouse Team has to say.

Anyway. Here is the direct link. Thanks for your help. The tutorials are great.

Hi, and thanks for this awesome opportunity to share. I'm always looking for new perspectives and any constructive design and usability feedback for my small biz website development projects. I've been having great fun learning with Treehouse, filling in any gaps in my design and development knowledge. Project links here: http://bit.ly/SmRllv and http://bit.ly/YyboCz Thanks!

My task was to re-design the BBC Radio 5 website in one day. So i gave it ago and used a windows 8 styled theme.

Project- www.radio5dash.tk

How to make the site work better on mobile and need help to further develop the site by adding click-able widgets

My submission wasn't accepted, nothing to see here.

Hi everyone,

a couple friends and me printed a few dozen shirts a while ago but we never really got around building an online store - we tried stuff like bigcartel, but we wouldn't commit enough time and effort to pay those 10 bucks a month ;). I payed for the printing of all those shirts and now they sit on my cupboard. sniff. But Yayy, here You come and show us how to build a simple online store in PHP so i jumped right in and built the site.

Here it is: http://shop.zweigle.in/ - Zweiglein means "little branch" in german.

As You can see, i took the easy way out and used Twitter Bootstrap to style it. I hope to spare some time in the future to come up with a more interesting design. Some tips for that would be cool :)

You guys and the rest of the awesome resources for learning about web stuff in the internet motivated me to quit my information design studies in Graz, Austria a year ago and try to learn it all on my own while studying something more brainy - educational sciences. I still feel superstoked about it, so thanks for that.

What a long, awful post :P - sorry for that. take care, jalil

Hey guys! I want submit my new website, just released today :)

Thanks for your submission, Furquan, Charles, Jalil, and Samuel!

Make sure to keep an eye out in the next couple of weeks for Treeviews episode 4 to see if we reviewed your website or app!

I know this thread was started 6 months ago, but can we still submit work for future treeview episodes?

This is my first website (other than smells like bacon) and I used bootstrap for the heavy css. It's a portfolio site, and I'd love some feedback on the design (are there best practices or things I should include/not include on a portfolio site?) as well as anything I could do to clean up the code. I'd love to learn the little things now so I can implement them as I build bigger and more robust sites. Thanks!
