1,629 Pointsnull pointer exception self destruction
I keep getting a null pointer exception at the line where I assign the ParseRelation variable to the mCurrentUser.getRelation("friends"); I have used the ParseConstant class to reference "friends" and also trying manually creating a relation column on my parse dash board but nothing seems to work. Everything else has been working fine and once I hit the "Edit friends" button from the action bar the app crashes.

3,143 PointsI had the same issue and it drove me crazy for a while. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with my code. My emulator was having trouble communicating with Parse (I was on slow, firewalled university WiFi). I tested it on my phone and there was no problem, so I tethered my laptop to my 4G connection and tried again with my emulator, and everything worked fine. So you might need a better connection. Try it out!
