Omitting external variable name

On the "Movable" protocol, is there a reason to omitted the external name with the "_" character? When should this be implemented?

1 Answer

Hi Jacob, Pasan chose the external name to be _ as it would make the function read more nicely when you call it later on. Instead of it being read func move(direction: Up) it will now read as func move(up) which sounds more naturally when you read it out load.
