on the initial set up of the file index.php it will not connect to Index of/testsite, however if it is index.txt it will pull up the Index of/testsite. I can read the file it said "test" just as seen in the video.

Are you maybe trying to access the PHP file as a file on c drive (eg. C:\xamp\htdocs\data.php or file:///c:/xamp/htdocs/data.php) instead of as a webpage (ie //localhost/data.php)? What is shown in your browser address bar?

I have "localhost" in my browser address bar.

It will redirect me to "http://localhost/dashboard/", no clue where to go from here. It does not look at all like the video.

"http://localhost/dashboard/"...all I could thinkd to do is "http://localhost/testsite/", which gives me the parent directory and under that is a link that states "index.txt" when I click on it it said "test" in the notepad just like the video. Except that it should be "index.php". What have I missed?
