Online Store

Does anyone have any advice for starting an online clothing store? I see several services (shopify, volusion, big commerce) that offer a package deal - cookie cutter web site, and basic services that you pay a fee for. I have no experience with that so I would love to get some feedback on the best way to go about it. Thanks!!

I really like Square it has a super easy setup, nice clean look, and includes social sharing.

Here is a clients store: https://squareup.com/market/redbeard-pro-shop

Website: https://squareup.com/sell-online

Totally forgot about Square - thanks Jeremy!

I'm a little biased (I work on the Shopify Guru Support Team) , but I would definitely recommend Shopify. Shopify, Volusion and Big Commerce more or less aim to achieve the same thing: an easy to use e-commerce solution.

Shopify has a free 14 day trial, competitive pricing, support for both online, retail POS sales and mobile sales on the iPhone, a large third-party app store for extending functionality, a robust developer API, robust but inexpensive pre-built and highly customizable themes (the most expensive being only $180 USD), built in SSL, our own in-house payment gateway (US and Canada only for now. More countries on the way!) and 24/7 phone, email and live chat support based in Ottawa, Ontario. We try to be everything you need for retail and we're always working to improve that.

The best way to see which platform you like best, is to test all three. We all have a trial available, so there is no harm in trying them all. If you have more questions about Shopify, you can fire me an email at jon.g@shopify.com :)

Great! Thanks so much

I'm really satisfied with prestashop.

It's a open source with an infinity of functionalists.
