online text editors

The reason I'm searching for an online text editor is because my computer seems to be having some sort of issue with notepad ++ lately

I did a quick search for "online text editors" and found a few, I wanted to see if any of you use an online text editor instead of notepad ++/sublime/text wrangler.

I want to find one with some good features and am hoping for some good feedback.

The best one that I use is codepen.

thanks! I like the look of codepen.

I use Cloud9 pretty significantly.

Thanks! this lcloud9 looks awesome, I'll give their free version a try

Looks good!

That's all I use, is the free account. Sometimes as a site grows you can use too much memory, in which point it kills your server and resets itself. Just have to start the server and continue. Minor nuisance but not enough for me to want to pay yet.

Nice clean, disposable virtual machine to practice in.

I cant seem to figure out how to preview my site on Cloud9. i click the preview button but then nothing happens it just brings up a blank page on the right side of the screen.

What kind of environment are you working in Eric? If you have a backend language you usually have to fire up the built in server first.

If you want a free text editor, thats hackable, i suggest atom

what do you mean hackable?

Its customizable

ah..i see. thanks Kevin!!
