Opening Ribbit App in Android Studio

I have watched the videos, but I still don't know how I am supposed to open the Ribbit app files in Android Studio. Should I 'open' as an existing android project or 'import'? Either way I am having trouble. When I try to import and I click finish, it tells me 'cannot save changes, please choose a valid jdk directory'. And when I try to open the folder directly all of my .java files in the src folder have errors (although I can't seem to read a description of the errors like I could in eclipse). Then at the top it says set up sdk and gives me two options, neither of which take away the errors. I tried to find the solution on google, but no luck. If anyone has any ideas for me, that would be helpful. Thanks
