510 Points(Opinions) Is web design/development a good career choice.?
Hello, I just want some opinions about this subject. I create templates and themes and I am looking to do client work aswell, I wana know if web design/development is a good career choice. I live in Canada I dont know if location matters or not being you can cater to anyone in the world on the web. I really love it and ant see me doing anything else. Will there be more and more opportunity in web design? Any opinions appreciated

5,568 PointsAs with most things it's what you make of it. If you spend hours on your craft then you will get some amazing opportunities i've no doubt.
In terms of the daily grind I had two choices for my career and I opted out of design full time. Maybe think about your career path and short to medium term goals, what are your expectations in terms of salary and job satisfaction? can those goals and expectations be met by continuing along the path you are on now?
If not, what needs to change, if it's small things like you need to learn new technologies then I would stick at it. If you've hit the ceiling in your current position I might suggest looking for opportunities elsewhere, that may include a design element or depending on your experience you might want to try and make a move into a management position.
