CSS CSS Basics (2014) Enhancing the Design With CSS Text Shadows

order of operations in text shadow.

Simple question out of curiosity more than having any issues. Is there any particular reason that in all other areas where order of operation is used, the top right bottom left (or clockwise) order is used, but when applying shadow to text is is the x axis that is addressed first?

I think it's typical for x (horizontal) to come before y (vertical) in settings that use two values (one for each dimension). Other examples would include "background-size" and "background-position".

The "clockwise from top" ordering is the typical arrangement for things that use four values.
