PHP CRUD Operations with PHP Reading and Writing Reports Filtering Data

Parameter should be optional error in CRUD Operations with PHP: Task 2 of 2

I'm working on Task 2 of 2 in the CRUD Operations with PHP. Below is the code I've submitted:

    include 'connection.php';

    //add code here
    try 
    {
        $query = 'select * from people';
        if($filter == true)
        {
            $query .= ' where treehouse=1';
        }
        $query .= ' order by last_name desc';
        $peopleStmt = $db->prepare($query);
        $peopleStmt->execute();
        return $peopleStmt->fetchAll(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC);
    } catch(Exception $e)
    {
        echo $e->getMessage();
    }
}

It tells me that the parameter should be optional. What am I missing?

Although I'm not sure why using false fails, the previous video shows using null as a default instead. Making that change passes the challenge.
