11,506 PointsPerl Videos?
Hello Treehouse, Any possibility that we'll see some Perl videos? I'm very interested in learning this language. Anyone else agree?

29,275 PointsThere have been many requests for Python...Don't remember, but I don't think Treehouse is coming out with it any time soon.
I think the problem is that there are so many other languages similar to it that either more powerful, or more used than Python, (forgive me if I have this all wrong, the info that I'm giving you is what I've heard many times but I can't find it online and/or remember it exactly).

11,506 PointsThanks, Chase. I found a discussion where a treehouse employee stated that Python would be coming out this year. I'm a PHP developer, but would like to pick up some Python & Perl as it could be pretty useful.

29,275 PointsNot sure what Perl does...I'm assuming that it is a server side language? Anyhow would love to learn more stuff! Can't wait for it to come out.

Perl is a fantastic language, though widely used these days, it is fading in popularity as python and ruby tend to absorb it's functionality. Because of that, support and development for Perl is fading with it, so it isn't very economic to produce Perl videos because you can do everything in Perl in Ruby or Python these days and often easier.
