Permission of the direcory and inside all contents(files)

Hii, i am using ubuntu but due to some problems i have remove my user name now i have files of that in another user name home folder but i cant acess the i dont have rwx permission. i try to change the permission but it can't change the permission and use with new account.

Hello Mohd,

I'm still fairly new to ubuntu myself but if I'm understanding your situation correctly, the only way you will be able to change permissions for those files is if you know the "root" password and use the "sudo" command.

Sudo Chown Maqbool:maqboool myfile Works like a charm Linux is awesomeness
