I am planning to start an Android App project, and I want some recommendations and suggestions from the treehouse community.
Project Description: An android application that will perform CRUD functionalities with a database on the cloud. I have heard of SQLite, and know that it is only a local database.
I am just wandering if there is any tutorials at treehouse or somewhere else that would fit well with this project?
I prefer tutorials to teach me how to directly deal with cloud based databases rather than local databases.
If I misunderstood the capabilities of SQLite, please let me know.
Thanks.
Shen

12,025 PointsI think the issue is that "Cloud based database" is an extremely general term. Your approach may vary depending on the particular cloud vendor you'd like to use, though most are performed similarly from my (admittedly limited) understanding. I can say that you are correct, SQLite is a light-weight database stored on the local device. It does allow data persistence on the device itself, but doesn't have much (directly, at least) to do with the Cloud.
EDIT: Treehouse does have a SQLite Workshop for Pro members
