[Photoshop] How to identify color for website?

Hey everyone!

I've got a problem with identifying colors for a website. When I'm moving the color picker on a red square object, (for example from left-top to right-bottom) its color is changing (the color details like its rgb or hexa code) however it's a simple plain red square it has nothing to do with a linear gradient.
I've got no idea how to identify its color.. Is it a bug or I used the wrong tool?

First: Thanks for this well asked and formatted question.

Answer: Sometimes (for example in letters) the outer pixels are different colors then the inner pixels. Could you provide a link to the website for me to inspect?
