PHP 5.5

Hey everyone, I am kinda begginer in PHP, I am going through Build Simple PHP App and am thinking do I need to install PHP 5.5 only, or it is good to download older versions like 5.4 ?

For the examples provided by the website, PHP 5.3 and 5.4 are fine. 5.5 is a big milestone in PHP so you should be aware what the changes are if you plan to use it in production.

There are certain differences between php 5.4 and 5.5 that include syntax differences; however, only one of these is relevant in the php lessons. Furthermore, all the external libraries used in the tutorials have been updated to 5.5. So downloading solely php 5.5 is totally acceptable for the courses but just make sure you take a minute or two at some point to read up on the changes between the two versions. Even if you do not know what certain parts mean yet it is still helpful I think to at least know the changes.
