4,114 PointsPHP Developer Track
Hi there,
I've been progressively completing this track and I have to say I find it wonderful how simple Treehouse have made learning PHP. My question at the moment is purely down to my own lack of knowledge of the web industry.
On completion of this track, does an individual have the competence to land a Junior PHP Developer job?
I understand that it varies company to company, but in general what do people think. I've only worked as a Front-End Developer before so I'm clueless.

7,837 PointsIf this was your first time to learn about web development I'd say it would not be enough to land even a Jr. level php position. However, you have experience that puts you a step above a true beginner. You might be able to depending on company, like you said. I'd say to complete the PHP track, then think up a project you want to make from scratch and build it. This way you have some experience closer to what you'd be expected to do, and it will provide something to show for in a portfolio. Even those who write code should have a portfolio of work.
