Playing wmv and avi files , on a Mac

Hi guys! I just bought a mac book pro, what software or app do you use to play avi or wmv files??

Do you have quick time 7 pro? is it worth??

I highly recommend VLC player! :) http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html. It's free, cross-platform, and will play those files you mentioned and more. It's also very nice and simple, with no bloat. I've been a fan for a long time of this software ^^

MBP's are awesome. :) I was just reading up on the Mac Book Pro with Retina Display...

On my MBP, I have Quicktime, Real Player, and VLC, just to cover all the bases. :)

I used Movist, and now I'm using MPlayerX. VLC is good.

I just found "premute" an app to convert files to mp4

but I think I stick with VLC
